At the end of October, we took time to celebrate the accomplishments of our students at our Fall Graduation Ceremony for our Scarborough and Lewiston campuses. Family, friends, and supporters packed the room at the Marriott at Sable Oaks in Portland to congratulate the students who worked so hard to start new careers and change their lives.
We were honored to have Senator Amy Volk as our keynote speaker. Senator Volk is currently serving her second term in the Maine Senate where she serves as Assistant Majority Leader. She represents the people of State Senator for District 30, which includes most of Buxton, most of Scarborough and all of Gorham. Prior to being elected to the Senate, she served two terms in the Maine House as the Representative for House District 127, coastal Scarborough. During her legislative service, Senator Volk has been a member of the Governor’s State Workforce Investment Board as well as the Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development Committee (LCRED). She is currently the Senate Chair of LCRED and a member of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee.

We also heard success stories from two students during our ceremony, which we are excited to share with you. Look for those soon.
