Career Development team at NTI helps students to secure employment with area companies
November 4, 2013 – Scarborough, Maine (PRWeb) Northeast Technical Institute (NTI) with campuses in Scarborough and Bangor, Maine has seen a dramatic increase in job placement for recent graduates this fall. NTI’s Career Development office has also been receiving a record number of calls from area employers seeking qualified well-trained candidates. Many are responding to gain access to NTI’s exclusive job board website, MyMaineJob.com. The website allows recruiters to preview NTI candidate profiles, search resumes, and even view pictures and national certifications of potential employees.
Since implementing the “Meet Our Graduates” newsletter to area businesses, NTI has experienced tremendous success placing HVAC/R graduates in heating and refrigeration technician positions throughout the state. Hiring companies include: Atlantic Comfort, Pine State Heating, HVAC Services, Comfort Systems, Fontaine HVAC, Northeast Mechanical, Estes Oil, J. Hannah Mechanical, Gelinas HVAC, and reVision Heat.
As a career training school, NTI teaches valuable hands-on skills that are in high demand throughout the medical industry. This has helped NTI establish lasting relationships with clinical externship sites at some of the largest medical facilities in the state and laboratories such as NorDx. This externship program provides students with real-world “on-the-job” training which can often lead to employment. Recently, NTI has partnered to create additional externship site opportunities with Central Maine Medical Center and Women to Women in Yarmouth.
In the month of October, Maine Medical Partners hired 4 graduates from the Clinical Medical Assistant and Medical Office programs, while other graduates have acquired positions at NorDx, Healthport, Orthopedic Associates and Maine Centers for Health.
NTI’s Information Technology (IT) students are securing employment in many cases before they graduate, with current students launching IT careers at Time Warner Cable, Bell Techlogix, Metrocast, and contract work for Google through MarketStar.
At NTI’s Bangor campus, more than 20 recent graduates found employment in October with regional employers. An additional 12 students were accepted into the externship program at various healthcare organizations where NTI graduates continue to hone their career skills while gaining valuable real-world experience in the medical industry.
Northeast Technical Institute is the largest and the only nationally accredited CDL truck driving school in Maine. While commercial driving positions are on the rise, CDL recruiters prefer the additional hands-on training, special endorsements, and comprehensive training offered at NTI. NTI has relationships with local hiring managers at Diesel Direct, Pepsi of Portland, Sysco, Paradigm Windows as well as national trucking recruiters at Werner, HO Wolding, Roehl and Schneider.
